The new Culture Ministry of Panama used to be the National Institute of Culture (INAC). It is located in the Old Town of Panama City next to the monumental complex of Las Bóvedas. This beautiful white building used to be the seat of the Palace of Justice.
Its origin dates back to June 6, 1974 when Law 63 was created to guide, direct and promote the cultural process in Panama. In 2019, within the framework of the 500-year celebration of Panama Viejo, President Laurentino Cortizo Cohen elevated the institution to ministry.
